LooChoo nu Kwa: Children of LooChoo
Featuring Ryukyu/Okinawan court dances rarely performed for the public, with introduction to the pieces narrated in story form. Underlining the story is a grandson who, upon returning from school on the mainland to attend his grandmother's funeral, realizes he has much to learn about his identity and connection with her but only after she has passed. Through music and dance, the story brings forth the importance of individual cultural identities and traditions. Exquisite costumes used during the kingdom period will be worn and exhibited. This production will touch many hearts and memories.
